What to expect
Private instructors will assist students in improving their technical proficiency through targeted exercises, tailored repertoire, and immediate feedback. Tutors can make immediate adjustments to correct a student’s pitch, rhythm, phrasing, posture, or use of expressive techniques.
TECHNIQUE —
Students will learn to make connections between music theory and practice. Having strong musical literacy is particularly helpful for students enrolled in music electives in school (e.g. HSC Music 1, 2, or Extension).
THEORETICAL LITERACY —
AURAL INTERPRETATION —
Ear training builds listening skills by connecting sound to instrument playing. Students will work on pitch and harmony recognition where relevant when learning their instrument.
The instructor will work with the students to improve their self-confidence and musicality - tone, expression and stylistic interpretation - to ultimately enhance their performance craft.
